Graviteam Tactics: Mius-Front simulates battalion-level tactical combat in the summer of 1943 around the Mius river and Saur-Mogila tumulus, across more than 140 square kilometers reconstructed from topographical maps, photos, and video. Four large-scale operations let you command Red Army or Wehrmacht forces with realistic organizational structures, sequel to Operation Star and Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943. The game runs in two modes. Operational is turn-based: shift and concentrate forces along chosen directions, resupply units, replace casualties, repair and refuel vehicles. Tactical is real-time: conduct fire combat, capture territory, destroy enemy vehicles and manpower. Reserves and reinforcements feed between the two as the campaign unfolds. The simulation depth is uncompromising. 100+ detailed vehicles from the USSR, Germany, US, and UK; ballistic trajectories accounting for wind and temperature; armor penetration modeled via ballistic histograms with secondary fragmentation fields; complex vehicle damage where engine, suspension, sights, weapons, and targeting mechanisms can be damaged separately. Soldier behavior tracks experience, stamina, and morale individually. Battlefield remnants persist across the operation, smoke and flares affect visibility, and AI selects strategies based on behavior rather than scripts.
Regiments
Regiments is a real-time tactics game set in 1989, the year a new war flares up and turns thousands of square miles of German landscape into a battlefield between the best of NATO and the Warsaw Pact. You lead a regiment through that inferno, breaking through lines, calling in artillery and air support, maneuvering, feigning retreats and staging mobile defenses, without ever relenting. A Platoon Command system lets you orchestrate battles with precision while keeping you in the role of a commanding officer rather than a sergeant, so there is no need to micromanage every infantryman. Forces are built on the fly: selecting your core regiment is only the start, and you can expand mid-battle by calling in unique Task Forces, each with its own equipment and off-map support. A plot-focused campaign spans nine diverse operations, each covering up to several days of fighting around the Inner German border, with tactical battles, resource management in the lulls and operational decisions between them. Over 100 authentically modeled vehicles, including the Leopard 2, T-72M and M2 Bradley, combine into many formations across factions like the Soviet Union, the USA, both Germanies, Belgium, the UK and Poland. Four skirmish modes and a competent, aggressive AI round it out.

Crash Dive 2 takes the sequel to its predecessor into the South Pacific. You command a Gato-class submarine prowling enemy shipping lanes, hunting convoys, attacking land bases, evading destroyers, and shooting down aircraft on strafing runs. The blend of submarine simulator and arcade action keeps the moment-to-moment fast even when the situation demands patience. Stealth and offense are both yours to choose. Sneak past escorts and torpedo the transports, or surface for a deck-gun duel with sub-chasers. When aircraft come in low, swap to AA guns. When destroyers start hunting you with depth charges, dive deep and silent. Full day/night cycles and weather conditions affect visibility and weapon effectiveness. The extensive campaign mode covers 10 patrols throughout the war across the South Pacific. Real-world locales include the Solomon Islands, Philippines, and Sea of Japan, plus randomly generated maps for endless variety. Crew health and location-based damage affect sub performance, with optional crew management, detailed damage control, and an upgrade tech tree all configurable to manual or AI handling. Urtuk: The Desolation is an open-world tactical turn-based RPG in a low-fantasy setting where Giants once roamed before being exterminated in war with humans. Now scientists extract Life Essence from giant bones, promising cures for disease but more often causing mutation or death. Urtuk, the protagonist, escapes from the Sanatorium where these experiments are conducted, already mutated and dying, and wanders looking for a cure. Combat is tactically rich on large maps with multiple environmental factors. Ram enemies onto spikes or off high cliffs. Shield allies and counterattack when struck. Position archers for ranged support while melee units engage. Execute combo attacks coordinating multiple party members. The hand-drawn art style covers characters, monsters, objects, world map and battlefields. The unique progression mechanic: extract skills and traits directly from defeated enemies and apply them to your units. Pushing enemies on critical hits, retaliating when struck, avoiding lethal strikes, lifestealing counterattacks, and many other custom abilities transform character roles. Characters also learn skills by executing specific battle actions, rewarding attentive play. A procedurally generated campaign with no classical fantasy creatures (no elves, dwarves, dragons) maintains the harsh tone.

This time you lead a squad of warriors blessed by the Egyptian gods against an invading Roman army. The loop is built on preparation and precision. You choose your adventure route, strategize amid ever-changing stage conditions, and then move and fire with care, creating a unique skill build by selecting from an array of skill tablets. The biggest change from the original is that every character now has a trademark skillset with its own attack mode and feature-packed individual system, so you might make a clean sweep of the battlefield, break enemy lines with multi-phased chain attacks, or use charge-attack leaps to take out the back row. At key moments, awakening the gods' blessings unleashes a Miracle to turn the tide. In adventure mode you choose your route, visit merchants and challenge powerful enemies, light up carvings for battle bonuses, level up your warriors to unlock new tablets and equipment, and build a capital to restore the glory of the pharaohs.
Wargame Red Dragon
Wargame: Red Dragon is Eugen Systems' third and most expansive entry in the Wargame series, shifting the alternate-history conflict from the European theater of the previous games to a 1991 Asia. The setup imagines the Cold War flaring into open conflict in a region drawing in Japan, China, North Korea, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand alongside the original Western and Communist blocs. You command the military resources of 17 nations across this theater. The unit selection is the franchise's signature commitment. 1,450 units have been meticulously reproduced from their real-world sources — tanks, helicopters, aircraft, infantry, artillery, and for the first time in the series, full naval and amphibious forces. The result is a tactical RTS where unit identification, weapon ranges, armor profiles and counter-doctrine all matter at a level most strategy games don't attempt. Maps cover ultra-realistic terrain that demands attention to elevation, ground type and line-of-sight, with new maritime areas requiring entirely different tactical doctrine than land battles. The single-player side introduces a new dynamic campaign system that reshapes the strategic situation based on your decisions across multiple operations. Multiplayer scales up to twenty players competing simultaneously — the largest player count in the series — with the same depth of unit interaction translated into team versus team scenarios. The game is dense, technical and reward-curving steep enough that it has remained a community staple for over a decade after release.
TROUBLESHOOTER Abandoned Children
TROUBLESHOOTER: Abandoned Children is the first season of a long-running Korean tactical RPG by Dandylion, set in the free trade nation of Valhalla — established by three world powers after a global war and prohibited from maintaining an army by the same powers. Crime fills the vacuum the absent military leaves behind, and ten years into the experiment the government grants ordinary civilians the legal right to investigate and arrest criminals. The people who take up that work are called Troubleshooters. You play Albus, a 20-year-old who becomes an official Troubleshooter and slowly assembles a small company of colleagues across the campaign. Each new recruit brings their own motivations, history and unlockable side content — a hunter character lets you tame beasts; an engineer lets you craft drones; specialised classes branch the available toolkit into directions a single protagonist couldn't possibly cover. More than 100 unique missions and over 500 cut scenes flesh out the story, with each mission designed independently rather than reusing template scenarios. The mastery system is the game's deepest mechanical layer. Over 1,000 masteries and more than 500 additional masteries form the build space, with each character acquiring masteries through level-up and — distinctively — by taking them from defeated enemies. Combinations of masteries unlock additional effects, so the build planning extends beyond just picking individual skills into deliberately constructed synergies. Each character has a unique class with rank-up paths to upper classes that change their battlefield role, giving you the kind of role customisation the SRPG genre traditionally only offers at recruitment.
The Troop
The Troop is a tactical wargame fought turn by turn at platoon level, set during the World War II Normandy campaign, from D-Day's first hours through to Falaise. On 6 June 1944 the Western Allies launched the biggest amphibious invasion warfare had ever seen, and the months that followed turned ancient fields, farms and villages into a battleground for lethal new weapons. You command British and Canadian forces against the German Heer and SS, leading units of infantry, motor transport and armour in desperate turn-based combat against an AI that is challenging and unpredictable yet fair and fallible. The game embraces classic tabletop wargaming while giving you complete, reliable control of your units: a tank will not bare its weak side armour to clumsy pathing, a hidden gun will not give away its position by firing early, infantry will not bolt without reason. Any mistakes are entirely your own. Four play modes span more than 30 maps: a Story mode that follows the campaign narrative, a Skirmish mode with endlessly replayable custom scenarios, a Campaign of linked historically-inspired battles with permanent losses and units that gain experience, and Battlegroup, a dynamic operation of five to nine missions with a persistent, randomised force. Rather than fixed difficulty, you tune rules and information settings yourself. It is a game built from a love of WWII history, not a strict simulation.
Battlecruisers Showdown
Battlecruisers unfolds in the 28th century, long after rising seas drowned most of the land and humanity vanished. Their robot descendants are left squabbling over the last spits of dry ground. You play Charlie, an opportunistic utility robot who borrows an unattended Trident-class battleship for a quick spin, only to learn it belongs to the planet's greatest superpower. Each real-time battle puts you in charge of design, construction, resourcing and strategy at once. Arm and defend your cruiser or watch it sink, and every victory hands you more to work with: frigates, artillery, bombers, lasers, stealth generators, shields, boosters and builder drones to speed up production. The arsenal climbs toward napalm, nuke launchers and experimental ultraweapons like the Death Star Satellite, the Ultralisk Rapid Fabrication Facility and the Kamikaze Signal. Devious AI captains such as Huntress, Destruktor and Karen demand sharp tactics, especially on the hardest difficulty. The whole thing is wrapped in hand-drawn art whose particle system never repeats a blast, and a mood-dynamic soundtrack that tracks the swings of each fight. Battlecruisers was made by Mecha Weka, a three-person team spread across New Zealand, Germany and Texas.
Buggos
Buggos is an RTS auto-battler that pairs strategy with bug-fueled chaos. You guide a growing hive mind in a battle for dominance, breaking free of your overbearing parent hive to conquer a fresh planet, unfortunately infested with pesky humans. The humans will fight back and gain new technology of their own, but they are no match for your adaptability and your willingness to send wave after wave of Buggos to their deaths. With more than 120 unique evolutions, victory comes down to customizing your swarm, sharpening Swarmers, arming Warriors, and supercharging Builder Bugs. A campaign carries you through nine diverse environments across 54 missions as human resistance escalates. An in-game level editor lets you design and share maps, while a Survival mode pits your swarm against relentless waves of human forces. Lighthearted yet challenging, the auto-battler is easy to pick up but difficult to master.
Root
Root is the digital adaptation of Leder Games' tabletop classic by designer Cole Wehrle, with art by Kyle Ferrin. Two to four players take control of forest factions fighting for the wild wood — the new Marquise de Cat occupation, the displaced Eyrie Dynasties, the people-powered Woodland Alliance, and the lone wandering Vagabond. The game's famous asymmetry is the headline. Each faction plays by genuinely different rules. The Marquise builds factories and scores from her industrial expansion. The Eyrie are bound by their Decree — an escalating set of mandated actions that crashes into turmoil if any leader can't fulfil them. The Alliance grows sympathy across the map and waits to revolt. The Vagabond completes quests, gathers items, and plays all sides for personal renown. Matches are quick once players know their faction but require everyone to understand every other faction's rules to play well — the asymmetry creates the strategic depth. The digital version supports cross-platform online play and includes tutorial content for each faction. AI opponents are available for solo runs, and DLC factions from the tabletop expansions (Riverfolk, Vagabond Pack, Marauder Expansion) are sold separately.

The game is fast, deep 3D turn-based strategy spread across two long, story-driven campaigns, Stormclaw and Hour of the Wolf. You spend points, build your list, choose deployment and fight, commanding dozens of authentically modeled units and heroes. Units carry experience between scenarios, level up into new abilities, and each one's strengths, weaknesses and weapon choices make terrain and flanking decisions matter. Lead Space Wolf legends such as Krom Dragongaze, Ragnar Blackmane and Logan Grimnar, the Imperial Knight Gerantius, or take the Orks under Grukk Face-Rippa and Mogrok da Mangla in skirmishes. Between the campaigns, a skirmish mode, a map generator and Slitherine's PBEM++ multiplayer, replayability runs long. The game ships as part of the Warhammer Classics line, which revives older titles whose presentation may not match current lore.
Sky Knights
Sky Knights renders jet combat from a top-down angle and runs matches as eight-player team fights split four on four. Goals stack: shoot down enemies, support friendly ground troops, manage fuel and ammo, and chip away at the enemy base until it falls. Landing on your home runway is the only way to rearm and refuel, and a clean touchdown takes practice. High-G turns, afterburner punches and vertical maneuvers can swing a dogfight, but pull too hard and the pilot blacks out. The starting roster covers the F-16, F-15, A-10, MiG-29, Su-27 and Su-25, with the F-5, AJS 37 Viggen, MiG-21 and Su-17 unlocking later. Over fifteen aircraft upgrades, six permanent pilot traits and eight avatars tailor your kit, and Twitch integration lets viewers drop in as ground forces.
