About IS Defense
IS Defense is a small, deliberately provocative project from Destructive Creations framed as a political what-if. The setup imagines a 2020 in which ISIS has consolidated control over Northern Africa and launched a full amphibious invasion of southern Europe across the Mediterranean. You're a NATO machine-gun operator stationed somewhere on that coast, and the game is the rest of your life.
Mechanically it's a throwback to fixed-position arcade shooters like Operation Wolf and Beach Head — you don't move, the targets come to you, and the question is how long you can keep them off the shore before you're overrun. A heavy machine gun and a rocket launcher are your standard tools, with callable NATO support assets for the moments when the gun alone won't cut it. Between missions there's a light upgrade layer covering gear, your character's stats and army rank, which gates how much support fire you can summon at once.
The developers describe the game openly as a side project and a personal protest about events in the Middle East at the time of release rather than a polished mainline title. It's short, intentionally raw, and exists as much as a genre revival as anything else.
