King Of The Castle

King Of The Castle is a multiplayer-only medieval party game built around an asymmetric power dynamic. One player takes the role of the Monarch, while three to twenty-three others join as the loyal Nobles of the Council, voting on the Monarch's decisions and — naturally — twisting the story to their own ambitions. Only one copy of the game is required for the entire group to play, with most of the secondary players joining via web browser, video call, couch co-op or Twitch chat.

The game's writing scale is enormous. Over 900,000 words across 950 possible Events and 80 unique Endings ensure that no two reigns play out the same way. The realm consists of five unique regions — brash Barons, ruthless Counts, wealthy Patricians, honorable Grandees, pagan Chiefs — each with their own Events and 18 possible Schemes to overthrow the Monarch. Balancing the competing demands of those regions while the Nobles plot betrayal is the core ongoing tension.

Decisions across 17,000-plus choices feed into emergent storytelling where every player is a central character in their own subplot. The Monarch can bribe, persuade or beg to get votes, or alter the Laws of the Land to twist democracy in their favor — but if regional Defiance grows too high, Rebellions can tear the kingdom apart. Dynasty Games let you continue playing after victory or usurpation with special Events and choices based on previous games. Monarchs and Nobles can be personalized with over 10 quadrillion customization combinations. Full Twitch integration makes the game scale to streamer audiences in real time.
