About Sanctum 2
Sanctum 2 is the sequel to Coffee Stain Studios' Sanctum, the first game to fuse tower defense and first-person shooting into a single seamless loop. You defend oxygen-producing Cores from waves of deadly aliens on the planet LOEK III, alternating between building phases (placing walls and towers, designing mazes) and combat phases (jumping into first-person and personally adding firepower to your defenses).
Four playable character classes each have their own strengths, weaknesses, and weapon sets — handled like FPS classes rather than RPG classes, with the choice shaping how you slot into your team's defensive plan. Up to four-player co-op or single-player campaign, with the multiplayer scaling enemy counts accordingly.
The customisation system is extensive. Pick perks to specialise your playstyle, or layer on Feats of Strength that make encounters significantly harder in exchange for better rewards. The rank progression unlocks new weapons, towers, and perks across the campaign.
A progression-paced storyline reveals the planet LOEK III's history and the aliens' motivation for destroying the Cores. An in-game visual novel unlocks comic-book pages for each map completion. The whole game was rebuilt from scratch using community feedback from the first entry, and the sequel is widely regarded as the genre-defining entry in the FPS/TD hybrid space.
