About ADACA
ADACA is an episodic sandbox FPS heavily modeled on the story-driven shooters of the late 90s and early 2000s, particularly Half-Life 2. The protagonist Jessy Thorn wakes from a cryo-pod missing an arm, now replaced with a robotic prosthetic that can force-manipulate loose objects, hurl them as weapons, and tear guns directly out of enemies' hands.
The planet ADACA hides dangerous secrets across rusted ruins and abandoned facilities. Multiple factions are racing to uncover them, the police aren't fond of you or your new friends, and the campaign breaks into episodes that gradually piece together what the planet's old world actually was. Gravity manipulation drives both combat and environmental puzzles, with physics objects scattered intentionally for creative kills.
A second character thread casts you as Sgt. Lexi Abrams patrolling the Calico Valley Exclusion Zone in a non-linear exploration mode, with unique quests and missions. A Playground level and Endless Battle mode round out the package for sandbox tinkering and survival wave defense. Solo dev Howly's homage to the Source-era shooter sensibility is the project's central pitch.
