Altitude

Altitude is a fast-paced 2D aerial combat game from Nimbly Games, designed with the polish and depth that the small team's experience working on Starcraft and Counter-Strike modding scenes brought to the project.

The aircraft are cartoonish but mechanically distinct. The Loopy is nimble and carries a tactical EMP blast; the Biplane provides support with 20mm cannons; the Miranda runs lasers; the Explodet is a heavy support platform. Each has a different feel, role, and competitive niche, and afterburners give all of them a tempo control beat for engagements.

Seven game modes shape the play. Plane Ball — soccer with airplanes — is the most accessible and the most popular for newcomers, with passing and blocking creating real team tactics. Team Base Destruction is the competitive backbone with strategic loadout decisions and coordinated pushes. 1-life Deathmatch tests pure dogfighting; Demolition adds tactical objectives; Free For All and Team Deathmatch handle the classics.

Call of Duty-style perks combined with the gameplay variety of Team Fortress 2 is the design pitch. The competitive Altitude ProLeague tournament scene has run for years with veterans from the studio's previous Starcraft and Counter-Strike communities. PC/Mac/Linux all supported.
