About Cats in Time
Cats in Time is a small puzzle-exploration game with one cheerful premise: Professor Tim Edger, inventor of a working time machine and avid cat lover, has had his cats accidentally activate the machine while playing in his lab. They are now scattered across history, hiding in 3D dioramas of various eras. Your job is to find every single one of them and bring them home.
The game runs across thirty distinctive locations spread through seven different time periods — ancient Egypt, late 20th-century New York, future Tokyo, and the in-between eras where Tim's cats have decided to spend their time. Each diorama is a small puzzle box, designed to be rotated, examined and gently picked apart to uncover the cats hiding in unusual places. Almost three hundred cats hide across the game's stages, and they are genuinely good at it.
Gameplay is tactile rather than combat-driven. Tap, drag, rotate, peer behind things. Solve small environmental puzzles. Listen for the meows. The relaxing soundtrack adjusts to each era's setting — the music of ancient Egypt is different from the music of 20th-century New York — and the whole experience leans toward unhurried exploration rather than time pressure.
This Steam version is the ultimate edition of the game, including new levels, more detailed 3D graphics, refreshed controls, widescreen support, extra content and several small surprises. Anyone who played the mobile original will recognize the structure; everyone else gets the most polished version of what is essentially a quiet, charming hunt for cats across time.
