About Hero-U Rogue to Redemption
Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption is a spiritual successor to Quest for Glory from its creators Lori and Corey Cole, who also worked on Shannara, Castle of Dr. Brain and Mixed-Up Fairy Tales. The mix of adventure, role-playing, humor and immersive storytelling that defined Quest for Glory carries over into a new setting and character: Shawn O'Conner, a young man enrolled at the Hero University as a rogue student.
The day-night structure is the core mechanical hook. Days are for classes, skill practice and making friends or enemies among the other students. Nights are for sneaking out with weapons, armor and traps to explore the abandoned wine cellars, sea caves, catacombs and dungeon beneath the school. Combat is largely optional, so players who prefer pure adventure puzzles can skip most fights, but real rewards wait for those who fight valorously through.
The writing is the headline draw: rich, frequently funny dialogue and descriptions across every interaction. The mystery threads through Shawn's hidden past while he competes for the title of Rogue of the Year. The Quest for Glory fan community Kickstarted the project after Lori and Corey returned to game development.
