About Linelight

Linelight builds its entire game out of a single premise: everything happens on a line. The player controls Dash, a small lit dash sliding back and forth along intersecting paths, and the only verb available is move. There is no jump, no attack, no inventory — just where you go, when, and in what order.

From that almost absurd restriction the game spirals outward through more than 250 puzzles spread across six worlds. Each mechanic introduces a new interaction — moving enemies, switches, timed gates, lights, shadows — and is then combined with the ones before it until what started as sliding back and forth becomes deeply strategic spatial planning. Solutions are unique to each board and tend to look obvious once seen.

Around six hours of campaign sits behind a presentation that's deliberately quiet — soft glowing lines against deep backgrounds, an ambient score that drifts under the gameplay without competing with it, and no failure punishment beyond moving back to the last safe segment. Hidden challenges in every world reward players who want to push deeper.

The unusually narrow design surface makes Linelight accessible to anyone — newcomers, kids, people who don't normally play games — while still offering veterans real puzzle bite. It's one of those rare cases where a strict constraint produces more design space, not less.
