About LUMINES REMASTERED
LUMINES REMASTERED is the PC remaster of Tetsuya Mizuguchi's 2004 puzzle game, originally a PSP launch title and one of the games that established Mizuguchi (Rez, Tetris Effect) as a defining figure in audio-visual puzzle design.
The core game is two-colour falling blocks. You rotate and place 2x2 blocks of mixed colors onto a playfield, and any 2x2 region of matching colour is marked for clearance. A BPM bar sweeps across the playfield in time with the music; when it passes over a marked region, those blocks are cleared and combos chain accordingly. Faster songs mean less time to set up combos, but slower songs let stacks grow uncomfortably tall.
40+ skins each pair an electronic music track with a corresponding visual style, and progressing through the game cycles through them. A new Shuffle mode lets you randomise skin order like a music playlist. Local 2-player versus matches and online leaderboards extend the loop.
The remaster adds 4K and HD support, modernised controls, and Trance Vibration mode — multiple rumble-enabled controllers can be synced to feel the bass across your body, a feature inherited from the PSP's similar rumble-pak gimmick. The game remains one of the most singularly tactile rhythm-puzzle experiences in the medium.
