Nelly Cootalot: Spoonbeaks Ahoy! HD revives a classic freeware adventure in high definition. Nelly Cootalot is a pirate adventurer, daft name and all, with a heart of pure gold, and the game promises corruption to uncover and a generous helping of wanton punning.

The spirit of a dead buccaneer charges Nelly, fearsome pirate and devoted lover of tiny, adorable creatures, with investigating why an entire flock of birds called spoonbeaks has vanished. Her quest brings her up against the nefarious Baron Widebeard as corruption surfaces across the Barony of Meeth. Along the way you rescue oddly named wildfowl, acquire morally dubious items for minor aristocrats, intercept a pilot's private mail and borrow facial hair off pirates centuries dead.

First released by Alasdair Beckett-King back in 2007, it started life as a gift for his girlfriend's birthday and spiralled out of hand, and the game returns here in full 1920x1080 HD with a streamlined point-and-click interface and, for the first time, full English voice acting. It also supports macOS and Linux. Revenue from the release, after fees and taxes, goes to the RSPB, a British bird charity.
