About Silver
Silver is the 1999 classic action-RPG that built its reputation on an unusual control scheme: the mouse becomes your sword arm. The land of Jarrah is ruled by the corrupt sorcerer Silver, who along with his henchmen has abducted the village women — including David's wife — as part of a pact with the almighty god Apocalypse. David, a promising young knight, takes up the quest to recover his wife, recruit allies, master swordplay and magic, and venture across hostile worlds in search of eight lost artifacts that can finally stop Silver.
The combat system is the game's signature feature. Sweep the mouse to the left and your hero slashes to the left. Sweep it forward and David lunges. Magical effects, throwing knives, arrows and even catapults are all controlled through this gesture system, with the result being a real-time combat layer that feels physical in a way contemporaries couldn't match. The intuitive handling makes battles flow naturally even when multiple enemies and ranged options are in play.
The campaign spans interaction with more than 50 characters — not all of them friendly — and recruitment of allies with their own special abilities. Sekune is a master of archery. Cagen is a skilled martial artist. Jug's strength makes him a force to be reckoned with in melee. Hundreds of beautiful, detailed locations carry the journey across Jarrah's varied geography, with vivid special effects, powerful magical spells and mighty weaponry accumulating as the campaign progresses. Demons, dragons and other insidious creatures stand between David and the eight orbs he needs to find.
