Sunless Skies: Sovereign Edition is a Gothic horror roleplaying game focused on exploration and exquisite storytelling, and the complete, definitive version of Sunless Skies. You captain a spacefaring steam locomotive as a new Victorian empire takes to the stars, leading a hapless crew into trouble and out of their minds.

The High Wilderness is a wondrous, horrifying vision of space where winds howl through celestial ruins and the stars themselves are alive, vast intelligences called the Judgements, now dying one by one. You explore four regions of the Fallen London universe, picking a side between Her Majesty's empire and the rebels, and maintain and upgrade your locomotive with exotic weaponry against marauders, imperial agents, and abominations.

You create your captain's past, choosing who they were before becoming a skyfarer and discovering more of their history as they advance. Most captains die, leaving an inheritance for their successors, while you survive starvation, madness, and terror and recruit variously helpful officers. The game holds over 800,000 words of intertwining stories and lush hand-drawn 2D art.
