The Beast Within A Gabriel Knight Mystery

The Beast Within: A Gabriel Knight Mystery is the second adventure in Jane Jensen's Gabriel Knight series. It finds Schattenjager, or shadow hunter, Gabriel Knight and his assistant Grace Nakimura drawn into a murderous mystery that unravels half a world away.

The two are dispatched to Munich to solve a series of mutilation murders thought to be the work of werewolves. The game lets you play as both characters, and the perspective shifts as two stories unfold in parallel: Gabriel confronts his own demons while tracking the killings, and Grace traces a historical enigma surrounding the strange demise of Mad King Ludwig II. Before long the hunters become the hunted.

The story ties together Gabriel, Mad King Ludwig II, the Black Wolf and a strangely powerful Lost Wagner Opera into a contemporary drama steeped in European history and lore, with deliverance resting on the most desperate of schemes.
