About The Coin Game
The Coin Game is a one-developer love letter to the ticket-redemption arcade, built as an open-world island sandbox rather than a single fixed venue. The island hosts more than fifty modern-inspired arcade machines spread across several themed locations — Larry's Arcade with its animatronic band Teddy and the Ticket Eaters, the space-themed UFO Arcade with attached laser tag and indoor go-karting, a 90s-style mall with its own arcade, food court, shops and cinema, plus Lenny's WaterPark, mini-golf and RC boat racing at pirate-themed One Eyed Billie's, and a Traveling Carnival with another twenty-plus games and rides.
Tickets convert to prizes at redemption counters, and a Pawn Shop lets you sell off the prize stockpile when the cash runs low. Survivor Mode pushes the simulation harder: you start with limited funds and track health and energy on a wrist-mounted watch, with Jerry's stocking the expensive healthy food and cheap junk food never far away. If money runs out you can scavenge dumpsters, deliver newspapers on a bike, or talk Uncle Phil into raising your allowance. Birthday Mode does the opposite — unlimited Uncle Phil cash and zero stress, just the arcades.
Getting around the island is half the fun: bus, golf cart, bicycle, mom's van, or walking if you've overdone the cheesy poofs. Highway traffic and milling tourists are real obstacles, so the roads aren't safe to wander. The game supports mouse, keyboard or dual-stick controllers with a flexible key-mapping layer, which lets it handle effectively any peripheral the player wants to plug in.
