The Mooseman

The Mooseman draws from the mysterious world of ancient myth, based on Finno-Ugric culture from bygone pagan times. A god named Yen created the world from an egg-shell, the murky depths of the endless ocean became the Lower World, the Middle World was made for men, and the Upper World holds the ancient gods. Multitudes of spirits dwell among the layers, guarding their secrets in the dark.

You play the Mooseman, who can see all that is hidden from mortal eyes. The journey takes you through three layers of this universe, starting with the Lower World where the spirits of the dead reside. The art draws on Perm animal style, the music on traditional Komi folk songs, and the atmosphere on the cumulative weight of forgotten cosmology.

Meet long-forgotten gods and spirits, learn the ancient myths of Finno-Ugric tribes, find artefacts of Chud' tribes, and unlock new abilities to reach the Upper World. Don't expect an easy journey: riddles wait in the dark, and many secrets only reveal themselves to spirit-sight.
