Carmageddon 2 Carpocalypse Now

Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now is the full-3D sequel to the controversial vehicular-combat hit. The carnage is bloodier, the body parts fly further, and the destruction is heavier, with the series' familiar promise of no rules and no mercy intact.

As in the original, each level can be beaten three ways, by finishing all the laps, wrecking every opponent, or killing every pedestrian in the area, and a ticking time limit is extended by hitting checkpoints, grabbing power-ups, wrecking rivals and running people down with style. Creative destruction pays the best rewards, and credits earned in a run go toward instant repairs or toward upgrading armor, power and offense in the Parts Shop between races. Cop cars hound you when provoked, and an action replay with multiple cameras is available at any point.

The game spans 30 grueling tracks and 10 mission levels across 10 new environments, from cities and deserts to a funfair and an aircraft carrier. An all-new damage model lets cars smash apart and even split in two, full 3D pedestrians and wildlife from penguins to moose can be mowed down, and 90 power-ups and power-downs add to the chaos, all set to a heavy-metal soundtrack featuring Iron Maiden.
