Chicken Assassin Reloaded

Chicken Assassin: Reloaded is a deliberately absurd action-RPG built around the kind of premise that doesn't bother explaining itself. You play Mean Mcallister, described by the game itself as the living embodiment of what would happen if you combined Rambo, Foghorn Leghorn, a bottle of hot sauce and a case of energy drinks. When evil mastermind Spritzel and his Henchmen abduct your girlfriend Candy, the appropriate response is to embark on a frantic chicken-led rampage across his organization, leaving mayhem in your wake.

The gameplay is honest about being a hand workout. Outrageous storyline aside, the underlying loop is fast-paced button-mashing combat against a steady stream of eclectic adversaries punctuated by special boss encounters. The visual presentation runs through colorful enemies and stylish level environments — visually stunning is the developer's own claim, and the art direction holds up to it in a cartoony slapstick register.

The RPG layer is where some actual strategy lives. As you progress, Mean can be upgraded with various fighting styles and skill paths, unlock an arsenal of weapons for doling out punishment, and equip customizable clothing that boosts stat attributes. The combinations let you tune the experience between brute-force punching builds and weapon-focused approaches, with the game never quite letting up on its core register of relentless, ridiculous chicken-led violence.
