Dark Souls is the action RPG from FromSoftware, the developers of Demon's Souls, and a spiritual successor rather than a sequel. It offers a dark fantasy universe, tense dungeon crawling, fearsome enemy encounters and unique online interactions. Prepare for a despair-inducing world with a vast, fully explorable horizon and vertically oriented landforms, a mysterious story centered on the world of Lordran, and, most of all, prepare to die.

You face countless murderous traps, darkly grotesque mobs and several gargantuan, supremely powerful demon and dragon bosses, learning from death to persist through this unforgiving world. You are not alone: the spirits of other players appear in your world so you can learn from their deaths, and you can summon players for co-op or invade others for PVP. Bonfires serve as check points where health and magic replenish, but at the cost of all mobs respawning, and no place in Dark Souls is truly safe.

The Prepare To Die Edition adds an untold chapter set in the past, when the knight Artorias still lives, including new bosses such as the Black Dragon and Artorias of the Abyss, new areas like Oolacile Township, new enemies, NPCs, weapons and armor, plus a PVP arena with an online matchmaking system. With around 60 hours of gameplay, a fully seamless world and a deeply nuanced RPG system, it is one of the most challenging games you can play.
