About Don't Escape Trilogy
Don't Escape Trilogy collects the three original Don't Escape games from Polish indie developer Scriptwelder, the creator of the Deep Sleep series and the later full-length Don't Escape: 4 Days to Survive. Each entry in the trilogy inverts the standard escape-the-room formula — rather than trying to find a way out, you're trying to secure yourself within, usually against some specific impending threat. The trilogy is the original web-game collection that established the premise, preserved and bundled for Steam without new content from the original versions.
In Don't Escape, you wake up in a remote cabin overlooking a tiny village and have until nightfall to find a way to effectively secure the cabin from the inside — using everything at your disposal — to protect the townsfolk from yourself, because the full moon is rising and you are not your best self under it. In Don't Escape 2, you and a friend have barely survived an undead apocalypse and need to fortify your hideout before the next nightfall while scouring the surrounding countryside for supplies, with the additional complication that your friend isn't looking so great. In Don't Escape 3, you wake up on a silent spaceship that holds a gruesome discovery, no memory of how you got there, and the slow realisation that you may not be as alone as you initially think.
All three games carry Scriptwelder's signature atmospheric polish, with creative puzzles that often allow for multiple solutions, and the kind of clever twists on standard horror conventions that made his earlier web games memorable. The trilogy is the perfect format for an evening with the lights down — three small standalone adventures, each with their own creeping tension, none of them long enough to overstay their welcome.
