Anna's Quest

Anna's Quest is a hand-drawn point-and-click adventure with a darker undercurrent than its cute appearance suggests. Anna lives peacefully in the forest with her grandfather until a mysterious illness befalls him, sending her on a journey for a cure. The witch Winfriede kidnaps her for an experiment, accidentally grants her telekinetic powers, and Anna escapes with the help of Ben, a boy turned into a teddy bear.

With telekinesis, an unorthodox knack for using torture instruments, improvisation, and the help of a shady fox, Anna works her way through Grimm-fairy-tale-and-European-folklore territory. She communes with the dead, shuts off local tavern beer supplies, and gets old ladies behind bars. Dragons, witches, trolls, and cursed princesses each play their part in her hunt for a cure.

The presentation leans grim with a heavy dash of self-irony, balanced against a light-hearted, courageous, bad-ass protagonist. Unlimited inventory with a special slot for a baby dragon, classic point-and-click controls with a hotspot indicator, and (the developers promise) an awesome ending.
