DISTRAINT is a 2D psychological horror adventure built around one specific moment: an ambitious young man named Price, looking to secure a partnership at a famous company, takes the assignment to seize the property of an elderly woman. The choice is purely instrumental for him; the consequences are not. The game tracks what happens after he discovers what his own humanity is worth.

The story unfolds quickly and economically. Around two hours of runtime cover several distinct settings and scenarios as the consequences of Price's decision catch up to him through increasingly unsettling environments and encounters. The game is dark and grim but carries a thread of dark humor underneath that keeps it from becoming punishing — DISTRAINT is the kind of horror that earns its weight through restraint rather than spectacle.

Gameplay is simple by design. You move left and right, examine objects, solve puzzles to progress. The minimalist interface keeps focus on the atmosphere and writing rather than mechanics. This Deluxe Edition is the developer's thank-you to the community that supported the original release. Dynamic coloring replaces the originally grey palette. Environmental lighting is increased and the lantern has been removed. Animation, graphics and lighting effects are enhanced. Audio has been refined. The interface is improved. The story underneath remains exactly what it was — a small, complete horror piece about the price of an opportunity.
