Isonzo

Isonzo carries World War One into the mountains of the Italian Front, a landscape as beautiful as it is deadly. You take part in key offensives of the Great War, from the Sixth Battle of the Isonzo to the Strafexpedition, leading your team to victory among the peaks and valleys of northern Italy. Crafted by BlackMill Games, the studio behind Verdun and Tannenberg, it is a realistic tactical multiplayer FPS with intense 48-player matches.

How you win is up to you. Lead an offensive with grenades, use mountain trails to flank enemy positions, or take a supporting role by cutting barbed wire and crewing heavy machine guns and mortars. A flare gun system lets you mark targets for artillery strikes or biplane flybys before charging in with bayonets and trench clubs. Six distinct classes, from Marksman to Assault to Officer, draw on 50-plus iconic WW1 weapons plus class-specific equipment and perks.

Everything is recreated from research and field trips, down to sound effects, uniforms, houses, vineyards and trenches. You can shape the battlefield with sandbags, barbed wire and ammo crates, use trench periscopes and sniper shields for an edge, and watch out for gas attacks and artillery barrages. Isonzo joins the WW1 Game Series alongside Gallipoli, Tannenberg and Verdun.
