Dream Quest

Dream Quest is a roguelike deck-building game inspired by the likes of Ascension, Magic: The Gathering, and Shandalar. You explore randomly generated levels as one of 13 classes in short sessions of around 30 minutes, one floor might find your wizard in a crypt, another your warrior underwater, and a third your assassin in a volcanic wasteland.

Combat is a card game: your abilities are a deck you develop as you grow stronger. A thief, for instance, begins with Slice cards and a Backstab but can learn defensive moves like Dodge or finishers like Coup de Grace. Choosing which cards to add is the heart of the game, with wise choices letting you slice through monsters and poor ones leaving you tripping over your own feet.

The game holds over 300 cards, from the defensive Kick and Armor to the devastating Meteor and Curse of Doom, and more than 70 monsters catalogued in a Bestiary as you meet them. Achievements earned across runs make future attempts easier or more interesting, and there are no in-app purchases, since everything unlocks through play.
