About Duck Season PC
Duck Season PC brings the full Stress Level Zero VR horror experience to traditional flat-screen monitors without requiring a VR setup, plus additional new hunting game types specific to this release. The premise stays intact: it's the summer of 1988, your mom has just rented the coolest new game for your Kingbit Entertainment System, and as you play through the day it becomes apparent that something is meaningfully different about Duck Season than the other games you own.
The framing is a throwback to the golden age of 1980s gaming and movies with a strong hint of horror in a Spielberg-inflected universe. A first-person experimental narrative gradually uncovers a story with multiple branches, and the entire game plays out across a single in-game day and night as your childhood memories and the cartridge's apparent supernatural malice intertwine. Between sessions of hunting ducks in the game-within-a-game, you explore the surrounding bedroom and house, examining the environment and piecing together clues that shift with the passing in-game hours.
Seven unique endings reflect the multiple ways the day can resolve, with seven light-gun mini-games to play on your virtual Kingbit Entertainment System. Dozens of Easter eggs and hidden secrets reward thorough exploration. Realistic virtual environments, multiple short films found on VHS tapes, additional mysterious sub-plots and several other features hidden behind [REDACTED] surface as you play. The PC release adds new hunting game types not available in the VR-only original.
