Farming Simulator 17

Farming Simulator 17 is GIANTS Software's 2016 entry in the long-running agricultural simulation series, and the version most fans cite as the point where the franchise hit its modern stride. The most visible new addition is a detailed North American environment built out as a full open-world map alongside the European map fans already knew, with regional crops, equipment styles and infrastructure to match.

The vehicle catalogue is the central appeal. More than 250 authentic farming vehicles and pieces of equipment from over 75 real-world manufacturers populate the game, including new brand additions Challenger, Fendt, Valtra and Massey Ferguson. Each vehicle is modelled with enough fidelity that real-world operators recognise their equipment, and the modelling extends through harvesters, tractors, balers, planters, ploughs, trailers, fertiliser spreaders and the long supporting cast of agricultural tools.

Crops include first-time additions sunflowers and soy beans alongside the established roster. Livestock now includes pigs, joining cows, sheep and chickens, each with their own husbandry requirements and economic outputs. Forestry adds further variety, and a transport layer with trucks, trailers and trains (which you can load and drive directly) connects the farm to the broader market. Multiplayer supports up to 16 players cooperatively, and modding via the passionate community provides effectively unlimited additional content — new equipment, maps, crops and gameplay mechanics that have kept the title relevant well past its original release.
