The building plan draws on real Russian orphanage blueprints, and the story takes cues from documented cases of abuse uncovered during inspections of similar institutions. Multiple endings let you decide what fate the shadows and the principal deserve, with the deeper riddles only revealing themselves to players who notice every mark of the past.
