About Song of Nunu A League of Legends Story
Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story is a story-driven adventure built by Tequila Works (the studio behind RiME) and set in the Freljord — the frostbound northern reaches of Riot's League of Legends universe. You play Nunu, a young boy searching for his missing mother with his best friend, a wise and playful yeti named Willump, who serves as both companion and traversal tool across a land that doesn't want either of them there.
The gameplay loop is exploration and puzzle-solving rather than combat. Hike, climb, sled and use the bond between boy and yeti to navigate a frostbitten landscape full of harsh blizzards, ferocious wolves and old magic frozen under the ice. Snowball fights stand in for combat in places. Larger environmental puzzles unlock new sections of the map and gradually peel back the truth of what happened to Nunu's mother.
The Freljord setting gives the game access to the iconic champions who live there. Braum's warmth, Ornn's stubbornness, Volibear's ferocity and Lissandra's twisted Dark Ice magic all feature directly in the narrative, and the events of the game intersect with the larger lore in ways that mean something both to existing League fans and to players coming in fresh.
The project's strength is the bond at its heart. Nunu and Willump are written and animated as a real friendship, and Tequila Works' history with intimate single-player adventure design carries through. It's a side door into a competitive multiplayer universe that turns out to lead somewhere genuinely tender.
