About STANDBOX

STANDBOX is a small physics sandbox built by a single developer for people who, as kids or as adults, found more entertainment in tech demos than in the games they were supposed to be playing. The entire game centers on Stanley — a smart-ish ragdoll animated by a rough approximation of a medical simulation — and your relationship with him is whatever you decide it should be. He can stand, attempt to balance, fall, suffer, and heroically try to get back up. You can help him. The game suspects you won't.

The simulation is the point. Stanley has organs, and you can damage them. He has bones, and you can break them. Balance, trauma, concussion, blood loss, and a kind of mechanical guilt are all modeled as systems you can experiment with in any combination. Three maps and a handful of tools form the toy's physical scope, but the combinatorial space of injuries, recoveries and absurd accidents extends well beyond what the simple description implies.

The developer is upfront about what this is and isn't. STANDBOX is not an early-access title, not a live-service game, and not going to ship a battle pass on Tuesdays. It's a finished toy from a one-person project with a small scope and a strong personality, and any future updates will be bonuses rather than promises. If kicking a digital man while he's down and watching to see whether he gets back up sounds like a productive use of an afternoon, this is the appropriate sandbox.
