About The Turing Test
The Turing Test is a first-person puzzle game by Bulkhead Interactive, set on Jupiter's moon Europa. Ava Turing, an International Space Agency engineer, arrives at the research station to find the ground crew missing and a series of puzzles set up across the base that the station's AI, T.O.M., insists can only be solved by a human.
The Energy Manipulation Tool is the central mechanic. Energy can be transferred between machines (doors, generators, robots, force fields) by extracting it from one source and inserting it into another. Puzzles build on this with timing mechanisms, multiple connected machines, and eventually the ability to switch between perspectives (Ava, robotic camera, etc.) to solve the trickier rooms.
The narrative is the real draw. T.O.M. and Ava banter through the puzzles, but the conversations gradually shift as Ava digs deeper into Europa's ice-crusted core and starts questioning the AI's stated motivations. Themes around human morality, consciousness and what counts as autonomy emerge through the story, with multiple layered conspiracies leading to a finale that the player partly gets to decide.
