Wolfpack

Wolfpack is a first-person, multi-crew U-boat simulator. A single Type VII submarine has stations for up to five players — captain, helmsman, dive officer, radio operator, navigator — and a successful mission requires real-time cooperation between them, since no station can do its job in isolation.

The radio operator runs the hydrophone, radio, RDF, and Enigma machine. The helmsman controls heading, speed, and the torpedo data computer. The dive officer manages depth via planes and ballast and also serves as gunner. The navigator triangulates the boat's position and plots intercepts. The captain coordinates the whole picture, often by voice.

Unlike most submarine sims, controls are physical — valves, levers, dials clicked through directly rather than activated via menus. Stations and instruments are modeled from period reference material.

Solo play is supported, with one player handling everything from the captain's perspective. The wolfpack name comes from grouping multiple crewed submarines into the same mission, communicating between boats over radio, just like the historical wolfpack tactics. Convoys are randomized, with merchants escorted by destroyers, sloops, and corvettes.
