Age of Empires IV Anniversary Edition

Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition packages the 2021 release with the first year of free post-launch content. The base game's ten civilizations covering 500 years from the Dark Ages through the Renaissance gain the Malians, modeled around West African gold trade and economy, and the Ottomans, whose military centerpiece is the Great Bombard siege cannon.

Four distinct campaigns span 35 missions, narrated over real period maps with archival footage interludes. The roster includes the Normans, Mongols, Delhi Sultanate, Chinese, Rus, French, English, Holy Roman Empire, and Abbasids alongside the new pair. Each civ plays distinctly: Mongols pack and move their entire base, Delhi research is free but slow, French knights anchor every army composition, Rus tax animals from sacred sites.

Mod Editor enters beta with this edition, letting players sculpt skirmish maps, scenarios, tuning packs and new modes. Eight new maps ship alongside masteries, challenges, taunts and cheats. Multiplayer supports up to eight players in PVP and PVE, ranked seasons and spectator slots. 4K visuals run with seasonal weather across each biome.
