APICO

APICO is a laid-back beekeeping sim where you leave a boring city job behind to return to your family home in Port APICO and revive your beekeeping roots. The gameplay loop spans resource gathering, crafting, and beekeeping minigames that combine real-life apiculture knowledge with fantasy elements like solitary bee habitats and butterflies with special effects.

The core activity is cross-breeding bees. Over 45 species can be discovered through careful selection of parents, with the process requiring patience and an eye for what combinations produce. Beyond cross-breeding, you craft tools, make honey and Apicola and other beekeeping products to sell, and gradually repopulate lost species back into the wild as part of the game's conservation theme.

Multiple biomes each carry their own unique bee species, butterflies to collect, and habitats to craft. 4-player online co-op extends the beekeeping work into a shared activity. The free demo covers the first 15 species and gives a taste of the full game's pace. TNgineers donates a portion of revenue to bee conservation charities — the project is explicitly designed to promote real-world bee conservation alongside delivering a sting-free fantasy version of the hobby.
