Big Ambitions

Big Ambitions is a role-playing business sim that drops you into New York with a small apartment, a basic job from your uncle, and nothing else. Your character is a physical person in the world — you ride the subway, walk the streets, eat at supermarkets, and sleep in your bed — and your goal is to build a business empire from those starting conditions across whatever path you choose.

The business layer is genuinely expansive. Open a gift shop, supermarket, coffee shop, law firm, clothing store, liquor store, florist, web development agency or any combination of them. Take out a loan, rent a building, design the logo, renovate the store, get stock, manage your money, hire staff, build infrastructure. As you scale up, you'll need warehouses, delivery trucks, import operations, and eventually a corporate headquarters with HR Managers, Logistics Managers and Purchasing Agents at their own desks.

The life-sim layer wraps around the business loop. Your character has to actually live — sleep, eat, stay healthy, maintain happiness. You travel to dealerships to buy vehicles. You go to supermarkets to buy food, and need a refrigerator at home to store it. You can buy any building in New York, from a small apartment to a Midtown penthouse to a luxury townhouse in Hell's Kitchen. Decorate them, invest in real estate, take over the city piece by piece.

Wealth lets you spend however you like. A big SUV, a sports car, the luxurious Mersaidi S500. Risk money at the casinos or put it into investment funds. The whole game scales from broke-with-public-transport to building-empires-while-touring-luxury-furniture, with the underlying life-sim mechanics ensuring you can't just optimize spreadsheets — you have to live the role. Big Ambitions takes what worked about the developer's earlier Startup Company and pushes it into a much larger world.
