About BioShock 2

BioShock 2 returns to Rapture about ten years after the events of the original. You play the most iconic figure of the city itself — a Big Daddy, specifically Subject Delta, the prototype of the model. The framing is unusual for a sequel: along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city. Delta's mission is to find his bonded Little Sister, Eleanor, in a Rapture that has fallen further apart since the first game.

The combat system iterates on the original with dual-wielding — you can carry a weapon and a Plasmid simultaneously, with each hand acting independently. The result is a substantially more dynamic combat layer where freezing an enemy with one hand while drilling them with the other becomes natural rather than fiddly. Both the weapon arsenal and the Plasmid roster are expanded, and the Protector Trials DLC adds focused frantic combat challenges where you keep a Little Sister safe while she gathers ADAM from a corpse.

The multiplayer is the unusual addition for a series previously committed to single-player. Set during the fall of Rapture as a prequel to the original BioShock, multiplayer puts players in the shoes of Plasmid test subjects working for Sinclair Solutions, fighting through reworked versions of iconic original locations like Kashmir Restaurant and Mercury Suites. Genetically enhanced multiplayer characters earn XP toward new Weapons, Plasmids and Tonics that combine into hundreds of build options. This bundle includes the Sinclair Solutions Test Pack, Rapture Metro Map Pack, Kill 'em Kindly mode and the Zigo and Blanche multiplayer characters.
