About Dread X Collection The Hunt
Dread X Collection 4: The Hunt is the fourth chapter of the Dread X anthology series, co-produced by David Szymanski (DUSK, The Music Machine, Squirrel Stapler). The seven indie developers were given 20 days each (double the previous collections' 10-day timeframe) to develop their entries, all themed as horror shooters with guns or cameras as primary tools.
The framing story features series newcomer Artemis, traveling to the ARK 2 research base after receiving a cryptic message from her past. 8-12 hours of total playtime span the seven games plus the robust arctic launcher world that connects them.
The individual games: Uktena 64 (bounty hunting diseased animals for the CDC), Axis Mundi (ghost photography in a haunted mall), Black Relic (a monk's crossbow hunt for pagans who stole a holy relic), Rose of Meat (a strange island that watches with dead eyes), Seraphixial (a father searching for his daughter in an underwater commune), The Fruit (an 1884 protagonist hunted by deranged townsfolk in Ravenshollow), and The House of Unrest (a demon-hunting priest banishing the plague demon Asakku).
