FOREWARNED

FOREWARNED puts a team of 1-4 archaeologists into procedurally generated ancient Egyptian tombs to investigate phenomena, collect treasure, discover lore, and identify the specific Mejai (cursed mummy) haunting each ruin. Identifying the Mejai by name lets you access the inner chamber and retrieve the sacred relic — and ideally escape before the mummy physically manifests to prevent your departure.

Twelve unique maps each carry distinct environments across the Sahara, with procedurally generated layouts that produce near-infinite variation between runs. Each Mejai has unique characteristics and abilities — different visual cues, different behavior patterns, different ways to be banished. The ancient texts suggest the evil can be permanently banished by performing a ritual in the tomb's lowest level, and the campaign's central tension is whether to settle for treasure-and-escape or push deeper for the full ritual.

The game supports PC and VR crossplay — players in headsets and players on flat screens can play together. Positional voice chat extends the immersion. An item shop system lets you spend gold between expeditions on upgraded equipment. Over 150 lore pages can be found and transcribed across the tombs. Death is not the end — you can return as a servant of the Mejai, retaining a semblance of your former self to help survivors or demonstrating loyalty to your new master.
