About Goodbye Deponia

Goodbye Deponia closes Daedalic's trilogy of point-and-click adventures starring Rufus, the anti-hero inventor desperate to escape the junkyard planet of Deponia for the floating paradise of Elysium. The Organon is now planning Deponia's destruction, Goal (the ex-Elysian girl who's the key to Rufus's plan) has disappeared again, and a stolen cloning machine has produced three Rufuses.

The gameplay shifts to occasionally controlling three Rufuses at once, with puzzles requiring coordination between them. Rufus stumbling over himself becomes a literal mechanical reality. The two-Rufus chase and three-way coordination sequences are the standout puzzle designs of the trilogy, and the protagonist's signature flair for screwing up everything he touches multiplies across the cloned bodies.

The hand-drawn 2D comic art holds the series' visual identity through the finale, with cutscenes set to lovingly animated sequences. Daedalic Entertainment won the German Computer Game Award for Best German Game 2013 for the entry, and the writing remains in the tradition of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett and Matt Groening that the series established with the first two entries.
