About Grim Dawn
Grim Dawn is an isometric action RPG from Crate Entertainment, a studio founded by the lead gameplay designer of Titan Quest and staffed with veterans from Blizzard North, Irrational and Harmonix. The setting is openly apocalyptic — humanity is on the brink, iron is worth more than gold, and the few enclaves still standing are wary of strangers — and the writing keeps the tone grounded rather than power-fantasy bombastic.
Character building is the game's deepest system. Six base classes — Soldier, Demolitionist, Occultist, Nightblade, Arcanist, Shaman — combine in any pair, with over twenty-five skills and modifiers per class. Items grant another two hundred and fifty unique skills, twenty thousand possible magical affix combinations and more than two hundred rare affixes feed into the loot economy, and the Devotion constellation map adds a separate layer of bonuses unlocked by restoring shrines hidden throughout the world. Reclaiming skill points is allowed, so early decisions aren't permanent.
The campaign has more than thirty-five quests and seventy-plus lore notes, and faction reputation matters: helping one human enclave can earn the lasting hostility of another, and hostile factions actively remember and hunt you with elite hero packs. Side content includes locked rogue-like dungeons that require crafted keys and disable teleporting, two hundred-plus hand-configured enemy heroes and bosses, twenty-plus secret areas behind crumbling walls, dynamic weather across distinct climates, and four-person multiplayer for cooperative or competitive play.
