About ATOM RPG Post-apocalyptic indie game
ATOM RPG is an indie post-apocalyptic CRPG that wears its influences openly, Fallout, Wasteland, System Shock, Deus Ex and Baldur's Gate among them. In 1986, mutual nuclear bombings flattened both the Soviet Union and the Western Bloc, and you are among the few who lived through that holocaust.
Your task is to roam the wild, uncanny expanse of the Soviet Wasteland, carve out a place for yourself, and look into a shadowy plot bent on wiping out whatever life still clings on. A powerful character creation tool lets you build the wasteland hero you want, running on a measured roleplaying system that takes after GURPS, where each spread of stats opens its own dialogue and fresh routes through quests, plus dozens of skills spanning everything from lockpicking to gambling.
There are plenty of hours to spend in every kind of place, a fresh settlement raised out of the rubble of the old world, the wilds prowled by mutants and ruthless bandits, an abandoned military bunker, or just a peaceful pond to fish at. Combat is turn-based in the style of the early Fallout games, with random encounters, deep multiple-choice dialogue and nonlinear quests, every one open to several different solutions.
