KNIGHTS strips the puzzle genre down to its single most distinctive chess piece — the knight, with its L-shaped movement pattern — and builds an entire game around it. The goal at each level is to place every colored knight on a space of its corresponding color, using the chess knight's specific movement to navigate the puzzle's geometry without colliding with other pieces.

The early levels are approachable, teaching the movement vocabulary and the basic state-tracking that puzzles like this require. Later levels demand forethought — knights move in non-obvious ways, and the path that gets one knight home can leave another blocked. Multiple solutions exist for many puzzles, and discovering new approaches is part of what unlocks the deeper layers of the design.

Nearly a hundred hand-crafted levels ship in the base game, plus an infinite supply of procedurally generated levels released daily.
