About Letters - a written adventure
Letters is a word-puzzle coming-of-age adventure about friendship, growing up, and finding your way in life. Follow Sarah, a shy girl from Switzerland, through hand-drawn letters to pen pals (in the 90s) and chat messages (in the early 2000s) as she navigates childhood, friendships, nerdy obsessions, and an annoying sister.
The innovative riddle mechanic uses words. Drawings block your way, friendly characters need help, Sarah's friends need responses. Finding the right words is hard, especially for shy people, so you can break existing words apart and recombine them into new ones for Sarah to use. The result is a unique blend of cozy reading-and-writing puzzles you haven't seen elsewhere.
The branching storyline lets you shape Sarah's adult future through countless small decisions. Take revenge on the sister, play video games all day, fall in love, or rewrite her story entirely. About 3 hours per playthrough, with multiple paths to discover. The hand-drawn visuals and pixel art evolve with Sarah's age, and the whole thing doubles as a wholesome English-practice tool.
