Stone Story RPG is built around a single distinctive image: every screen, animation, and effect is rendered in ASCII art. Beneath that retro-terminal surface sits a full RPG loop with crafting, exploration, and the kind of intricate boss design that wouldn't look out of place in a modern action game.
The player character moves and fights on their own AI. You don't issue direct movement or attack commands — your role is loadout choices, potion timing, and item swaps mid-fight when a boss shifts patterns. It's an auto-battler, but not an idle game; encounters reward attention and quick decisions.
Eight unique locations each have distinct environments and intense boss fights. Crafting is shallow on the surface but deep once you start combining items into strategies, and the world is populated with eccentric NPCs and lore worth digging into.
Stonescript is the in-game scripting language, built specifically for modifying the player AI. You can write something as simple as "drink a health potion below 40%" or rewrite combat behavior wholesale. Cosmetic scripting extends to UI, healthbars, and even custom mecha skins for your avatar.
