The Isle

The Isle is a gritty, open-world survival horror game set on an unforgiving island inhabited by dinosaurs. You explore vast landscapes of dense forest and open plains, traverse treacherous mountains and wade through dark swamps where horrors lurk, with ruins hidden throughout that hint at what came before. There is little hand-holding: it is kill or be killed, and the only one you can trust is yourself.

When you join, you play as one of dozens of unique creatures, from tiny darting herbivores like Dryosaurus to blood-thirsty giants like T. Rex or Allosaurus, using your natural abilities and senses to stay off the menu and grow stronger. You engage with a living prehistoric ecosystem as predator or prey on servers of up to 100-plus players, forming packs and herds, creating nests, defending offspring and claiming territory, where a single mistake can spell your demise.

The core Survival mode is a tense, difficult experience where dinosaurs progress through several life stages, starting small and vulnerable and using scent, night vision and wits to grow and unlock abilities like nesting. For a less intense experience, Sandbox mode lets you play an expanded roster as an adult predator or giant with no major penalties for dying. The game also features a global community story told through the environment, achievable only through immense cooperation among players.
