Thief Simulator 2

Thief Simulator 2 picks up the formula of the original and rebuilds it with bigger jobs, more tools and a sharper progression. You start with small targets — empty apartments, unlocked sheds — and work your way up by stealing better, fencing the goods on the black market, and using the proceeds to buy gear that opens up tougher houses. Two full neighborhoods sit on the map, with more than 20 houses to break into and routines to learn before you do.

The loop favors planning over panic. Each target rewards casing in advance: figure out when the residents leave, watch which lights come on, time your entry to the empty windows. Inside, you're juggling speed against thoroughness — what's worth grabbing first, what to leave, and when to move before something tips off the police. The toolkit expands as you level up, starting with a crowbar and binoculars and growing into stethoscopes for safes, hacking laptops for security systems, sleeping gas and tranquilizer guns for residents who refuse to leave.

Three larger heists sit on top of the open-world jobs: a resort with six houses to clear, a guarded warehouse, and a central bank with a literal vault. Police chases play out with patrol cars and helicopters, and the car layer of the game pulls its own weight too — you can boost cars off the street, modify them, or buy a sports car to outrun pursuit. Over 15 contract jobs and timed payphone missions sit in the background for variety.
