Through the Ages

Through the Ages: A New Story of Civilization is one of the highest-ranked board games on BoardGameGeek, and Czech Games Edition built this digital adaptation directly from the cardboard. Each player guides a civilization from a small tribe through scientific, political, military and cultural advancements over four ages, drafting cards that represent leaders, wonders, technologies and military units.

Resource management is the core tension. Food feeds population, resources build wonders, science unlocks new cards, culture wins the game; mismanagement of any one piece cascades through the others. Military strength determines whether you survive aggressions from opponents or get punished by colonization plays.

The digital version teaches the rules through a tutorial that the studio specifically designed to be funny rather than dry. Asynchronous and live online matches, AI opponents at multiple skill levels, single-player challenges with curated puzzles, and a choice between the original board rules or a faster digital ruleset all ship in the package.
