About Timberman
Timberman is a single-screen arcade game built around one simple action: chop the tree on the left or right, taking care not to be where a branch is when it comes down. The verb is one tap. The challenge is rhythm and reflex. Almost 30 million players have run through the loop, which is the kind of number that suggests the design is doing something fundamental right.
The game scales difficulty by speed rather than complexity. As you chop faster, branches arrive faster, and the margin between a clean chop and a fatal mistake shrinks. The skill curve is unusually steep — the first few seconds are easy, the next several minutes get progressively brutal, and the leaderboard times require near-machine input precision to approach.
Four variable environments and 32-plus base Timbermen sit behind unlock conditions, plus five additional Steam-exclusive characters. Each Timberman is cosmetic only — the gameplay mechanics stay identical — but the variety gives players a small collection goal alongside the leaderboard climb. Recent updates added the new 8-player Timbermill mode and Dark Father as an additional timber-hero.
Multiplayer is the Steam version's signature feature. Play with friends or random opponents from the internet directly, comparing chop speeds in real time. The game is short, sharp, easy to pick up and almost impossible to put down once the score is close to a personal best — exactly the kind of arcade design that produces 30 million players.
