About Triple Town
Triple Town is the puzzle game that genuinely earned its 'original' label — a match-three system bolted to a city-builder where every successful merge produces something larger and more valuable. Three grasses combine into a bush. Three bushes combine into a tree. Three trees become a house. Three houses become a cathedral, and so on up the chain into castles and beyond. Every piece you place is both an opportunity and a threat — wrong placements clog the board, right ones cascade into entire upgrade chains.
The wrinkle is the bears. They wander onto the board to block tiles, and unlike everything else, they can't be merged in the same straightforward way — you have to corner them, build around them, or use the limited tools the game provides to clear them. The result is a constant tension between optimizing your placements for the long game and dealing with the immediate threat of bears taking valuable squares out of play.
The Steam version is openly framed by the developers as 'the ultimate hardcore version' — no in-app purchases, no DLC, no microtransactions. Whatever the game has to offer is included with the purchase, and that's the whole package. The score curve is what gives the game its replayability: the larger the city you successfully grow, the higher your score climbs, and the question becomes how big a city you can finish before the board fills.
