About War of Rights
War of Rights drops 400 players onto recreated Maryland Campaign battlefields from September 1862. Campfire Games built every uniform, weapon, drill manual, building and ridgeline against historical sources, so a regiment marching across the Sunken Road or the Cornfield is approximating what its real counterpart did.
Line formation play is enforced mechanically. A formation buff system reduces suppression and morale loss when troops hold tight ranks, and breaks down when soldiers scatter. Player classes mirror the regimental roster: privates, NCOs, flag bearers, drummers, buglers, fifers and officers up through colonel, each with class-specific drill animations. Artillery crews work as a separate branch with field guns and limbers.
Forty-seven skirmish areas cover Antietam, South Mountain and the Siege of Harpers Ferry. Three drill camps exist purely for practicing maneuvers between matches. 135 regiments and batteries are individually represented with researched uniforms across ranks. Game modes (Skirmish, Picket Patrol, Conquest, Contention) prioritize teamwork over kill counts. In-game 3D voice keeps officer commands directional.
