About Wayward Strand
Wayward Strand is a heartfelt story told aboard an airborne hospital in the summer of 1978. Casey Beaumaris, a teenager who prefers books to people, reluctantly agrees to help out over a long weekend at the airship hospital where her mother works, quietly planning to write an article about the visit for her school newspaper.
Time passes for everyone on board, and characters live their lives without waiting for you. More than a dozen fully voiced residents, some charming, some eccentric, some rude, move and act on their own timelines, sharing news, arguing, joking, and gossiping. As Casey, you roam each day freely, choosing which story to join by following people, joining or eavesdropping on conversations, and exploring the hospital.
Spending time with particular characters opens new storylines, locations, and resolutions, while overworked staff prepare for an important official's visit and patients grapple with grief and trauma. Casey records events and clues in her notebook, using it to dig deeper and piece together mysteries. Every playthrough surfaces something missed before.
